January 2025: And We’re Off, New Year…New Adventure

Welcome to the very first newsletter for Daughters Refuge!! My name is Tonya Heft, and I am the Founder and Executive Director here at the Refuge. We are a new 501(c)(3) non-profit that seeks to serve women of all age, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, and economic and/or relational status. The only requirement for services offered is that you are biologically female and live right here in beautiful Klamath County. Our goal is to grow to other surrounding counties as the needs of our own community are met, but we hold fast to the Scriptural belief of first getting “our own house in order”, and then reaching out to serve other areas in the state.

The “family” here at Daughters is different than any I’ve seen or experienced before, yet have always longed for and dreamt about. The vision for what God had in store for us and this beautiful property is totally not what we were thinking, but we are living Evidence that the Father takes what darkness meant for harm and destruction and uses it for healing and growth!

When I put my feet on this land in October 2021, I heard in my Spirit…”Gather women, harvest medicine, and heal by the light of the moon.” I wrote it down, and I admit I had no idea what it meant or would mean for me and my daughter at the time, but we were excited to see how it would all unfold. Well that excitement quickly turned into concern, and then flat out disbelief of the mountain we were facing. Long story short, we had to evacuate the house as it was unsafe for us to remain, and we were seriously sick from toxic poison we had no idea was there. For the first time in my life I was facing homelessness as a widow and with my daughter. If I wouldn’t have had the help of my parents, we would have been living in our van. Thank God, my parents were able to lend us their RV to use while we were working to figure out what all would need to be done to get the house safe and restored so we could live in it. It was through prayer and seeking the Lord for how to proceed that I knew exactly what my Spirit meant when she whispered, “Gather women, Harvest medicine, and heal by the light of the moon.” And the idea of Daughters Refuge, a safe place for women to gather, harvest, and heal started to manifest.

It’s taken an infinite amount of prayers and tears, and drained all of our savings and earned financial resources, but we have seen God’s hand all along the way. Now by His glory this sacred land is a safe place for women to be for as long as they need to be held, to rest, and to heal. Our desire at Daughters Refuge is for every female to know regardless of if they are a mother, a wife, a sister, or an auntie…if they are here, alive, and able to take breath on this beautiful and magical earth…they are indeed a Daughter of the most high God, whom we refer to as YHWH (which literally means inhale, exhale…that’s right God’s true name is the sound we make as we take/release a breath!!! He sees them. He knows them. And more than they ever could truly understand…He loves them.

We all are called according to His purpose, and that means we all can be used to do His Kingdom work, and when we do things from a surrendered place with Grace and Truth, the process actually restores us to a state of peace, joy, and love so we are healthy and vibrant, positioned and focused, and guided and supported in ways that allow us to hear the way He would have us each go and the strength to actually get there…just as it was in the Garden.

God is doing a new thing, and we are excited to be counted as a part of whatever He is doing. For it is written, “Remember not the former things neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it will spring forth, and you will know it. I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19

New strategy, energy, revelation, and anointed wisdom is essential for this season we are entering, and I believe God is reinventing, renewing, recalibrating, and reworking exactly what is needed in this new era we have entered. He has finished the removal of anything unnecessary in our lives to make room for all the ”new” that will unlock greater breakthroughs for His daughters. New frontiers in the Spirit are before us and it asks of each of us to allow our inner pioneers to rise up and begin to establish His way, decree His solutions, so we can build His structures of endless possibilities that will rightly steward accelerated change and harvest.

I for one had been flat out tired, like exhausted from the last 5 years. I felt shut down and closed off to even dreaming anymore because of the devil’s schemes, human disappointments, and stagnant seasons that didn’t seem to slow down no matter what happened, not one iota. However, since last November something has shifted, broke loose, and began ever so slightly to open. God is reactivating the pioneer spirit and creative capacity in His daughters and we will dream again with abandon and receive fresh revelation! We will walk by faith and not by sight. There has been a consecration of our hearts at the Refuge so we can steward what has begun to be poured in and out of this sacred property, and believe me it is GOOD!

It is a time of leaning in for fresh strategy and fresh oil. We are in a season of accelerated change, and new frontiers of possibility and potential are necessary in every part of society so our current paradigm of “normal” and “possible” can expand and unjust limits can fall away as our faith is upgraded and stretched. Creativity is key to supernatural answers and solutions, and that is all Divine Feminine so Ladies it is time for us to harness our God-given abilities and come up ways to deal with the problems we face in life that glorify our Father and promote love to each other and everyone we come in contact with. We are under His covering, so let us dream and vision with Holy Spirit so as to restore our passion, our heart, our hope, our voice.

This is an invitation to lay aside past disappointments, staleness, and things that didn’t go as we had hoped, and simply dream again. Have hope again. Believe again. Yeshua will restore our spark and each one of our unique inner pioneering spirits, as we open to all that God is more than able to accomplish in and through us. Let our prayers and our declarations reflect the God of “infinitely more.”

“For this I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, length, depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passes all knowledge, that you might be filled with all fullness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto Him be the glory by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, without end. Amen.”
